This unusual pendant features a more dark copperish color tone of 10k gold similar to rose gold but with darker richer color. The tapered baguette amethyst is nicely set in a bezel setting while the diamond sparkles in an array of four prongs which makes both stones safe and secure. Both stones boast an open-back mounting which brings extra light and sparkle to each precious gem.
Amethyst is February's Birthstone, while Diamond is a birthstone for April. Diamonds form approximately 100 miles under the earth and are carried to the surface by volcanic activity. Diamonds are the earth's hardest natural substance. The only thing that can scratch a diamond is another diamond! In the meanwhile, the lore of amethyst began with the Greek Gods who believed that drinking from goblets studded with amethyst gems would prevent drunkenness and excess. Amethyst derives from the Greek word amethystos meaning 'not intoxicated.
